Power Supply Restored In Flood Hit Areas In KP

The minister spoke in a press conference after presiding over a high-level meeting regarding flood damages to electricity infrastructure, including grid stations, feeders, transmission lines, and poles. As part of the rehabilitation and reconstruction of flood-affected areas in K-P, the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) and the Tribal Electric Supply Company (TESCO) are working together at the headquarters of PESCO.

The TESCO and PESCO authorities and field staff should be commended for their efforts in restoring power to all districts except for some areas in Swat and Bajaur that have been affected by flooding.

It is imperative that PESCO and TESCO restore electricity to upper Swat and Bajaur as soon as possible.

Alamzaib, the Deputy Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Power, was deployed to oversee and monitor the restoration and reconstruction work. He would report daily to the Ministry.

He reported that six out of nine closed grid stations had been able to be reconnected. Additionally, 121 of the 126 feeders that were affected by floods have been restored. In spite of the devastation caused by floods in the Kabul and Swat rivers, basic electricity infrastructures, such as feeders and grid stations, is functioning in K-P.

On the orders of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, a federal minister has been dispatched to Peshawar to oversee the damage caused by the floods. He has announced that electricity poles and transmission lines will be rebuilt as soon as possible.
